BOSTON (AP) — Larry Lucchino is stepping down this year at the Boston Red Sox's president and CEO.

Team spokesman Kevin Gregg says in an email that Lucchino hopes to remain with the club in some capacity. Gregg also says Sam Kennedy, the executive vice president and COO of the Red Sox, is Lucchino's choice to take over as president.

CETNIEWO, Poland (AP) — Anita Wlodarczyk of Poland has bettered her own hammer world record with a mark of 266 feet at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial Throws Festival.

After opening with a foul Saturday, Wlodarczyk became the first woman to throw beyond 80 meters — 262 feet, 5 inches — when she added nearly 5 feet to her own world record of 261-1 set last year at the ISTAF athletics meet in Berlin.

CETNIEWO, Poland (AP) — Anita Wlodarczyk of Poland has bettered her own hammer throw world record with a distance of 81.08 meters at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial Throws Festival in Cetniewo.
