RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Former general manager Bobby Beathard will be the 49th member of the Washington Redskins' Ring of Fame.

Beathard was the architect of the Redskins' Super Bowl-winning teams. Washington won three and appeared in four over a span of 10 years.

MOSCOW (AP) — Russia will immediately appeal the decision to ban all eight of its weightlifters from the Rio de Janeiro Olympics for doping.

Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutkov told Match TV on Saturday that the country will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport this weekend.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Seattle Mariners have placed right-hander Nathan Karns on the 15-day disabled list with a lower back strain a day after he was roughed up in a relief appearance.

Right-hander Cody Martin was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma before Saturday's game against the Cubs.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — Saudi authorities say sprinter Yousef Ahmed Masrahi will not compete in this summer's Olympics after failing a drug test.

NAPA, Calif. (AP) — The Oakland Raiders signed general manager Reggie McKenzie to a four-year contract extension.

Owner Mark Davis announced the move Friday night in front of about 100 former Raiders players. Davis said it was time to "reward" McKenzie for the job he had done in his first three years with the team.
