WOBURN, England (AP) — England's Matthew Fitzpatrick birdied his final two holes to card a seven-under par round of 64 and lead by one stroke on the first day of the British Masters at Woburn on Thursday.

METAIRIE, La. (AP) — The New Orleans Pelicans say center Omer Asik is expected to be sidelined about three weeks with a right calf strain.

The club says the 7-footer strained his calf in practice on Wednesday.

BOSTON (AP) — Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara will miss Thursday night's game against the Winnipeg Jets because he's not ready to return after an upper body injury.

The 2009 Norris Trophy winner has been out since he sustained the injury in a Sept. 24 exhibition against the New York Rangers. Coach Claude Julien says after the morning skate that Chara won't be active for the season opener.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (AP) — Former NFL coach Lindy Infante has died in Florida at age 75.

Infante's wife Stephanie told The Associated Press that he died Thursday in St. Augustine after a lengthy illness.

Infante coached the Green Bay Packers from 1988 to 1991, winning Coach of the Year honors in 1989 after leading the Packers to a 10-6 record.

LONDON (AP) — Declaring that "enough is enough," IOC President Thomas Bach called Thursday for an "external presidential candidate" to take over FIFA and restore credibility to world soccer's scandal-scarred governing body.
