MARTIN, Tenn. (AP) — Sophomore Cameron Payne scored 31 points with eight rebounds and six assists as Murray State rallied in the second half to defeat Tennessee-Martin 73-67 on Saturday night, pushing its conference-record win streak to 24 in a row.
Murray State (26-4, 16-0 Ohio Valley Conference) had already clinched top seed at the OVC tournament in Nashville next week, but was trailing UT-Martin (18-11, 10-6) 34-31 at halftime.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Madarious Gibbs had 16 points, Malcom Riley added 14 and Texas Southern swept the season series with Alabama State 58-49 on Saturday in a showdown of the top two teams in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

NORMAL, Ill. (AP) — Sydney Shanks scored 16 points and Kate Hoerdemann added 15 to power Bloomington Central Catholic past Elmhurst IC Catholic 51-29 on Saturday to capture third place in the Class 2A state finals at Redbird Arena.
Hoerdemann also grabbed nine rebounds to lead the young Saints (24-8), which started two juniors, two sophomores and a freshman.
