KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. (AP) — Andy Murray advanced Sunday to the fourth round at the Miami Open by beating Santiago Giraldo 6-3, 6-4.

The No. 3-seeded Murray, who won the tournament in 2009 and 2013, improved his career record to 499-155. He's seeking his first title this year.

Murray lost only four points on his first serve and was broken just once — the first time he served for the match. Giraldo, seeded No. 27, fell to 1-22 against top-10 opponents....

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas confirms that basketball coach Rick Barnes is out after 17 seasons with the Longhorns.

The university says in a statement Sunday that Barnes and the school "mutually agreed" he would not return despite leading Texas to 16 NCAA Tournament appearances and three Big 12 titles.

Barnes says he leaves with "no regrets." He had four years left on his contract and is due a severance payment of $1.75 million.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Colorado Rockies right fielder Carlos Gonzalez acknowledges he was "scared" when he felt pain again in his surgically repaired left knee.

GENT, Belgium (AP) — Italian veteran Luca Paolini posted his first victory in nearly two years after overcoming difficult weather conditions to win the Gent-Wevelgem classic on Sunday.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira has left a minor league intrasquad game after being hit on a leg by a pitch.

Teixeira was the designated hitter Sunday's game between Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Double-A Trenton when the ball struck his right kneecap.

After he returned Steinbrenner Field from the minor league complex, Teixeira said he was "fine." He said no tests were planned.
