ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Carlos Correa hit a three-run homer in the first inning, and the Houston Astros beat Tim Lincecum and the Los Angeles Angels 7-1 on Tuesday night for their ninth win in 10 games.

SEATTLE (AP) — Nelson Cruz hit his 20th home run of the season, Robinson Cano had three hits including an RBI single and the Seattle Mariners beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-2 on Tuesday night.

Western New York Flash forward Jessica McDonald was named the National Women's Soccer League's Player of the Week on Tuesday for her hat trick against the Boston Breakers.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Candace Parker had 31 points and a season-high 13 rebounds in an emotional performance after losing her former coach Pat Summitt, and the Los Angeles Sparks rallied from a 22-point deficit to beat the Dallas Wings 89-84 on Tuesday night.

SEATTLE (AP) — Breanna Stewart scored a career-high 38 points, Sue Bird made an off-balance jumper with 8.2 seconds left and the Seattle Storm beat the Atlanta Dream 84-81 on Tuesday night.
