BERLIN (AP) — Switzerland's most famous mountain, the Matterhorn, will be closed to climbers on the 150th anniversary of the first ascent of its summit.

The Alpine resort of Zermatt says the 24-hour shutdown on July 14 is being imposed "out of respect for the mountain" and in memory of more than 500 climbers who have died on the Matterhorn, starting with four of the seven-man team that first reached the summit in 1865.

STORRS, Conn. (AP) — UConn has officially added three off-season acquisitions to its men's basketball team.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Adrian Peterson is returning to the Minnesota Vikings, and the star running back tells The Associated Press that he hasn't lost his love for the team.

Peterson sent an e-mail to the AP early Tuesday morning saying he's excited to put on a uniform again after missing the final 15 games of last season while addressing child abuse charges in Texas. The Vikings open their second set of three voluntary practices on Tuesday.
