DENVER (AP) — Colorado Rockies prospect David Dahl had surgery to repair his spleen after a collision in the outfield during a game Thursday in New Britain, Connecticut.
Dahl was in centerfield for Double-A New Britain and was racing in to make a sliding catch on a blooper when he crashed into second baseman Juan Ciriaco. Dahl stayed down for several moments before being taken to a hospital, where he underwent surgery.
DETROIT (AP) — James Hinchcliffe's team is hopeful the IndyCar driver can be back by the beginning of August after his crash at Indianapolis.
Hinchcliffe had surgery May 18 after crashing during practice for the Indianapolis 500. The broken wishbone section of the suspension pierced the car's protective tub and wounded Hinchcliffe's left leg, causing massive blood loss.

HOUSTON (AP) — Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard has been suspended without pay for one game after getting his fourth flagrant foul point in the postseason.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson has been diagnosed with a concussion and will not practice until he is symptom free.
The Warriors announced the diagnosis Friday after Thompson went through neurological tests earlier in the day. Thompson was kneed in the head by Houston's Trevor Ariza in the fourth quarter of Golden State's Western Conference finals clinching win Wednesday night.
