SOCHI, Russia (AP) — A heavy crash for Carlos Sainz Jr. ended the final practice session at the Russian Grand Prix on Saturday with the Toro Rosso driver flown to hospital.

Sainz lost control of his car on a high-speed stretch heading into a steep right-hand corner, before scraping along the wall and crashing head on into the barriers.

The Spanish driver remained in the car, with part of the barriers covering the cockpit as the medical car arrived....

TOKYO (AP) — Benoit Paire of France beat defending champion and local favorite Kei Nishikori 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 on Saturday to advance to the final of the Japan Open.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Jessica Korda took a two-stroke lead Saturday in the LPGA Malaysia, shooting a bogey-free 6-under 65 in sweltering conditions.

INCHEON, South Korea (AP) — The Presidents Cup is headed back to Australia for the third time in 2019.

PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem announced Saturday that Melbourne will be the host when the Presidents Cup next is played outside America. Royal Melbourne hosted the matches in 1998 and in 2011, and the fabled course is expected to be the venue for 2019 once details are worked out.
