ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Angels outfielder Matt Joyce has been placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list after colliding with Erick Aybar on Sunday.

The Angels announced several moves Tuesday.

The Angels also optioned third baseman Kyle Kubitza back to Triple-A Salt Lake and recalled outfielder Efren Navarro.

HOUSTON (AP) — Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout was out of the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Houston Astros because of an injured left wrist.

The All-Star center fielder was hurt attempting to make a diving catch in the fourth inning on Sunday but stayed in the game and later hit a grand slam.

MIAMI (AP) — All-Star second baseman Dee Gordon was activated from the disabled list by the Miami Marlins on Tuesday, the same day that the team announced that Henderson Alvarez had season-ending shoulder surgery.

Alvarez pitched a no-hitter in 2013 and was an All-Star last year. He finishes this season 0-4 with a 6.45 ERA, and hadn't pitched since May 22. He was shut down twice with shoulder inflammation.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The NFL reduced Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell's suspension from three games on two on Tuesday.

The league initially suspended Bell three games in April following his arrest in August 2014 on DUI and drug charges.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Randy Cunneyworth is returning to the Rochester Americans for a second time to coach the Buffalo Sabres' American Hockey League affiliate.

Cunneyworth had a 306-273-61 record and led the Americans to six playoff berths during an eight-season stint from 2000-2008. He's also a former NHL forward, who played 866 games over a 16-year career split between six teams, including Buffalo.

MONTREAL (AP) — Michael Sam will make his debut with the Montreal Alouettes in August, but his coach won't give an exact date.

The Alouettes play Saturday in Calgary, and coach Tom Higgins says the defensive end could compete in any of the five games in August.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — Chiefs defensive tackle Dontari Poe will miss all of training camp and could miss part of the season after the Pro Bowl run-stuffer had surgery last week on his ailing back.

Poe first hurt his back during offseason workouts, but coach Andy Reid said Tuesday that he aggravated the injury training at home. Poe was diagnosed with a herniated disc and had surgery July 15, and trainer Rick Burkholder said he will be out indefinitely.
