DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Nate Peterman tied a career high with three touchdown passes to lead Pittsburgh past Duke 31-13 on Saturday.

Peterman was 13 of 23 for 180 yards with touchdowns of 11 yards to Zach Challingsworth, 3 yards to J.P. Holtz and 5 yards to Dontez Ford.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Alvin Kamara rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns Saturday as Tennessee defeated North Texas 24-0 for its third straight victory.

AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Trey Davis scored 10 straight points for Massachusetts to rally the Minutemen to an 85-79 victory over Howard in a season opener on Saturday.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina State has lost junior guard Terry Henderson for at least six to eight weeks with a right ankle injury.

AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Richard Petty says Sam Hornish Jr. will not return to the No. 9 car next season.

Hornish is in his first season driving for Richard Petty Motorsports. The Indianapolis 500 winner is 25th in the Sprint Cup standings and has just three top-10 finishes on the year.
