BERLIN (AP) — More than 2,000 Jewish athletes are gathering in Berlin for the European Maccabi Games, being held for the first time in Germany, and in the stadium built by the Nazis for the 1936 Olympics.

In a nod to the past, organizers of the 14th games are holding a Holocaust memorial service ahead of the opening ceremony late Tuesday, and many youth athletes were to visit the former Sachsenhausen concentration camp just outside the city.

NEW DELHI (AP) — Indian sprinter Dutee Chand will aim to qualify for next year's Olympic Games after a Court of Arbitration for Sport's decision to suspend IAAF rules that could have blocked women with high levels of male hormones from competing.

DENVER (AP) — A person with knowledge of the situation confirms the Colorado Rockies have traded slugger Troy Tulowitzki to the Toronto Blue Jays for Jose Reyes and three pitching prospects in a stunning swap of star shortstops.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity early Tuesday because the deal had not yet been announced.

CHICAGO (AP) — Kris Bryant's two-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Chicago Cubs to a 9-8 victory over the Colorado Rockies 9-8 on Monday night.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Athletics general manager Billy Beane remains optimistic Oakland will get a new ballpark.

HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Texans have placed outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney on the physically unable to perform list.

The move means the No. 1 overall pick in last year's draft will not be ready for the start of training camp this weekend. But Clowney will be able to return to practice whenever he is ready.
