SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — The San Jose Sharks have hired Bob Boughner as an assistant coach and Johan Hedberg as goaltending coach for Peter DeBoer's new staff.

The Sharks announced the moves Thursday.

Boughner spent the past four seasons as head coach of Windsor in the OHL. He spent one year as an assistant in the NHL with Columbus in 2010-11.

HOUSTON (AP) — Houston Astros outfielder George Springer has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a broken right wrist.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Philadelphia Phillies have placed right-hander Aaron Harang on the 15-day disabled list because of a foot injury.

Chad Billingsley was activated from the disabled list to take Harang's roster spot and will start against Milwaukee on Thursday night.

Harang (4-11) lost his eighth straight start on Wednesday night to become the first Phillies pitcher since Jim Nash in 1972 to lose eight in a row.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to terms with defensemen Cameron Schilling and Michael Liambas.

The two-year contract for Schilling runs through the 2016-17 season and Liambas is a one-year deal for next season.

NEW YORK (AP) — New York Rangers forward Martin St. Louis is retiring after 16 NHL seasons, seven All Star selections and one Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Monta Ellis has found a new home in Indiana.

A person with direct knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that Ellis has agreed to terms with the Pacers on a four-year deal worth $44 million. The deal includes a player option for the final year. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal has not been announced. The contract cannot be signed until July 9.
