PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — LaMarcus Aldridge had 17 points and 12 rebounds and the Portland Trail Blazers pulled away in the second half for a 94-75 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.

It was Portland's fifth straight win but it was costly: Starting guard Wesley Matthews had to be helped off the court with a left foot injury early in the third quarter. He did not return and the extent of the injury was uncertain.

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — Luke Nelson scored 15 points, hitting all but one of his 10 free throws, to lead UC Irvine to a 68-62 win over Cal State-Fullerton on Thursday night.

Mamadou Ndiaye added 12 points to go with eight rebounds and six blocks for UCI (18-11, 11-4 Big West), which shot 43.2 percent from the field on 44 attempts to get the season sweep. The Anteaters enjoyed a 23-10 advantage in made free throws.

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) — David Samuels scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Long Beach State to a 69-58 victory over Cal State Northridge on Thursday night.

McKay LaSalle added 11 points and Mike Caffey 10, along with eight assists, for the 49ers (15-16, 9-6 Big West). Samuels' double-double was his eighth with LBSU.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Tramique Sutherland hit two free throws with two seconds left in overtime Thursday and 10th-seeded Bradley beat seventh-seeded Drake 52-50 to advance to a second-round matchup against No. 2-ranked UNI (16-2) Friday in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament.

Auston Barnes scored 13 points, including a 3-pointer with 1:11 left in overtime that gave Bradley (9-23) a 50-47 lead.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland starter Wesley Matthews had to be helped off the court after hurting his left foot in the Trail Blazers' game against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.

Matthews was running with the ball when he fell to the court two minutes into the third quarter. He was helped off the floor and the team said he would not return.

The nature of the injury was not immediately known.

DAVIS, Calif. (AP) — Corey Hawkins knocked down the go-ahead basket with 38 seconds left and UC Davis held on for a come-from-behind 61-59 victory over UC Riverside on Thursday night.

Josh Fox converted a three-point play and Hawkins made two at the line to close the Aggies within 54-52. UC Riverside then missed a shot attempt from distance, and Darius Graham dropped a 3-pointer on the other end to give the Aggies their first lead of the contest with 1:18 remaining....

GRAMBLING, La. (AP) — Wendell Lewis, DeMarcus Robinson and Jamel Waters scored 12 apiece to lead six Alabama State players in double figures and the Hornets beat Grambling State 78-46 Thursday night.

Bobby Brown had 11 points for Alabama State (17-9, 13-4 Southwestern Athletic Conference) while Luther Page and Tony Armstrong each scored 10.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Chavaughn Lewis scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to propel 11th-seeded Marist to an 80-74 upset win over No. 6 Quinnipiac and become the highest-scoring player in program history in Thursday night's opening round of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship.
