COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — IOC President Thomas Bach says the Olympic body does not necessarily condone the political or legal systems in countries it selects to host the games.

In a speech at a sports congress in Denmark, Bach reiterated his position that the International Olympic Committee must remain "politically neutral" but also consider the political implications in choosing host cities.

CHICAGO (AP) — Fans and relatives will have a chance to pay their respects to Chicago White Sox star Minnie Minoso.

A public visitation is scheduled from noon until 8 p.m. Friday at Holy Family Church in Chicago.

The Havana native and major league baseball's first black Latino star died Sunday. He was believed to be 90.

ASTANA, Kazakhstan (AP) — Mikhail Kukushkin defeated Simone Bolelli 7-6 (6), 6-1, 6-2 to give Kazakhstan a 1-0 lead over Italy in Davis Cup on Friday.

MIAMI (AP) — A South Florida businessman is set to be sentenced for illegally helping finance the smuggling of Los Angeles Dodgers star Yasiel Puig out of Cuba.

Gilberto Suarez is likely looking at a prison term of up to a year at Friday's hearing before U.S. District Judge Robert Scola. Prosecutors say Suarez has cooperated extensively in the investigation.
