ZURICH (AP) — FIFA has fined Zimbabwe and awarded Ivory Coast a 3-0 win after the Zimbabweans failed to show up for a women's Olympic qualifying game.

Zimbabwe withdrew before the second leg, which was meant to be played this weekend.

VIENNA (AP) — Leo Wallner, a former IOC member who led Austria's national Olympic movement for 19 years, has died. He was 79.

The Austrian Olympic Committee said he died early Wednesday, without revealing a cause of death.

"He has always served the interests of Austrian sports on national and international level and within the IOC with dignity and full commitment," said AOC president Karl Stoss, who succeeded Wallner in 2009.

NYON, Switzerland (AP) — Michel Platini says he will run in the election to succeed Sepp Blatter as FIFA president.

Platini, the UEFA president and a FIFA vice president, has written to member federations in Europe saying he will stand and is counting on their support.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — The International Olympic Committee has awarded exclusive Olympic broadcast rights in 22 Asia-Pacific countries to Japan-based advertising agency Dentsu Inc.

The IOC on Wednesday said the deal covers the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo and yet-to-be awarded games in 2022 and 2024.
