CHICAGO (AP) — Defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk and the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2017-18 season.

The Blackhawks announced the move on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old van Riemsdyk had one assist in 18 regular-season games with the Blackhawks last season. He skated in four Stanley Cup Final games.

GIRONA, Spain (AP) — NBA center Marc Gasol has confirmed that he will sign a new five-year contract with the Memphis Grizzlies.

The 30-year-old free agent tells Spanish media he will stay at Memphis, as The Associated Press reported on Monday.

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Brazilian auditors say the extension of a subway line to the Olympic Park may not be ready before the games start in in August 2016.

The O Globo newspaper says Tuesday that according to a report by the Rio de Janeiro State Audit Court there is a "high risk" that the extension of a subway line to the main venues at the Olympic Park in Barra da Tijuca will not be operating before the beginning of the Olympics.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Rays placed outfielder Steven Souza Jr. on the disabled list with a lacerated finger and reinstated utility man John Jaso before Tuesday's doubleheader in Kansas City.

Souza, who is hitting .210 with 15 homers and 33 RBIs, is the 18th player from Tampa Bay to land on the DL this season. In all, the Rays have made 20 moves to the disabled list, second only to the Texas Rangers.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Cubs have recalled right-hander Dallas Beeler from Triple-A Iowa to start the second game of Tuesday's day-night doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The 26-year-old Beeler will serve as the 26th man. He is 1-5 with a 6.33 ERA in 13 starts with Iowa.

Beeler made his major league debut with the Cubs last season and went 0-2 in two starts despite a 3.27 ERA.

LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) — The USGA says the caddie for Sei Young Kim was removed from the U.S. Women's Open for taking photos of internal notes on the course setup.

Paul Fusco will not be allowed to caddie this week at Lancaster Country Club. The Women's Open starts Thursday.

A USGA spokesman says Fusco was found to have taken pictures of a USGA document. Such matters as hole locations are not available to players until the day of the tournament....

NEW YORK (AP) — The NBA has fined Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban for commenting about the team's agreements with DeAndre Jordan and Wes Matthews during the league's free agent moratorium.

NBA spokesman Tim Frank confirmed the penalty, which ESPN.com reported Tuesday was for $25,000.

Teams can agree to deals with players during the moratorium, which lasts from July 1-8, but can't comment specifically until deals can be signed on July 9. They can...

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — The PGA of America is moving its Grand Slam of Golf from Donald Trump's golf course in Los Angeles.

LONDON (AP) — Promoters say unbeaten British boxer Tyson Fury will challenge Wladimir Klitschko for his world heavyweight titles in a bout in Germany in October.

The 39-year-old Klitschko is the WBA, IBF and WBO champion and the encounter will be a record 28th heavyweight title bout for him.

CLEVELAND (AP) — LeBron James is bringing a little Hollywood to his Ohio hometown.

The NBA superstar is hosting a private screening of "Trainwreck," a new comedy in which he plays himself in a supporting role as the best friend of star Bill Hader.

James is showing the film to family and friends in Akron on Friday, a few days before the movie's premiere in New York. The R-rated film will be released nationally on July 17.
