TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals have signed first-round draft pick Robert Nkemdiche to a four-year contract with a fifth-year team option.

The $8.6 million contract includes a $4.4 million signing bonus.

Nkemdiche, a defensive tackle from Mississippi, was considered one of the top talents in the draft but slid to the Cardinals largely because of character concerns.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks have signed nine of their 10 draft picks, including first-round pick offensive lineman Germain Ifedi and second-round pick defensive tackle Jarran Reed.

Seattle announced the draft pick signings along with the signing of 13 undrafted rookie free agents before the start of its rookie minicamp on Friday. The only drafted player not signed is Clemson running back Zac Brooks who was selected in the seventh round.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma said Friday that kick returner and running back Alex Ross will graduate, then transfer.

Ross played in 36 games at Oklahoma and was used largely as a kickoff returner. He ranks third in school history in career kickoff return yard average. As a sophomore, he averaged 31.2 yards per return and scored two touchdowns. Last year he averaged 21.5 yards per kickoff return, including a 90-yard return at Oklahoma State.

NEW YORK (AP) — The Red Sox have brought up right-hander Sean O'Sullivan from Pawtucket and optioned left-hander Henry Owens to the Triple-A farm team.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco will have surgery on his left shoulder Tuesday, resulting in a second straight season wiped out by injury.

Mesoraco tore the labrum in his non-throwing shoulder. After getting a second opinion, he decided to have surgery. He'll be in rehabilitation for four to six months.

BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) — Dinamo Bucharest player Patrick Ekeng collapsed during a match in the Romanian capital on Friday and was rushed to hospital where doctors tried to resuscitate him.
