ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — The Oakland Raiders are planning to release two starters from last year's team, cutting ties with receiver James Jones and linebacker Miles Burris.

HOUSTON (AP) — The Texas Rangers have recalled right-hander Spencer Patton from Round Rock and optioned right-hander Roman Mendez to that Triple-A team.
