CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — The Calgary Flames are bringing back goaltender Karri Ramo, signing him to a one-year deal.

Ramo was 15-9-3 with a 2.60 goals against average and .912 save percentage in his second season in Calgary. He has a 2.92 goals against average and .905 save percentage in 122 NHL games.

The 29-year-old replaced Jonas Hiller for the Flames in their second-round playoff series against the Anaheim Ducks.

Free agent forward Thaddeus Young says he's staying in Brooklyn with the Nets.

Young tweeted Wednesday morning that he is "extremely happy" to continue his career with the Nets. A person with knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press the two sides have agreed to terms on a four-year contract worth $50 million. MIAMI (AP) — A person with knowledge of the negotiations says Goran Dragic has agreed to a five-year contract worth about 90 million with the Miami Heat.

GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP) — Former Cowboys special teams player C.J. Spillman has been arrested on a sexual assault charge in an alleged 2014 incident at a Dallas-area hotel.

Tarrant County jail records show Spillman surrendered early Wednesday and was freed on $15,000 bond.

Grapevine police say a grand jury indicted Spillman on Monday after the alleged assault of a woman last Sept. 20 at the Gaylord Texan Resort, where he was staying....

FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts judge who oversaw the trial of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez has rejected a request to throw out his first-degree murder conviction or reduce it to second-degree murder.

Superior Court Judge Susan Garsh turned down a motion for a required finding of not guilty in the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd. A jury convicted Hernandez in April. The motion was a procedural step that had to be taken before an appeal....
