CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Cubs have promoted right-hander reliever Gonzalez Germen from Triple-A Iowa and optioned outfielder Matt Szczur to Iowa on Sunday.

Germen was 2-0 in four scoreless appearances with Iowa this season. The 27-year-old right-hander was claimed off waivers from Texas in January. He will be available to pitch in Sunday's game against the Padres.

SOCHI, Russia (AP) — The International Tennis Federation is considering playing future Davis Cup finals at a neutral venue.

ITF president Francesco Ricci Bitti told The Associated Press on Sunday that the idea is among several proposed changes to the competition, along with fifth-set tiebreakers to prevent marathon matches.

TORONTO (AP) — Blue Jays infielder Devon Travis left Sunday's game against Atlanta in the first inning after being hit in the left ribs by a pitch, then aggravating the injury when he went back to first base on a pickoff attempt.

The Blue Jays said Travis suffered a left rib contusion.

The rookie second baseman, who's batted leadoff the past three games in place of injured shortstop Jose Reyes, came in batting a team-high .356.

CHICAGO (AP) — Blackhawks forward Antoine Vermette is in the lineup for Game 3 of their first-round series against the Nashville Predators.

Chicago acquired Vermette in a trade with Arizona on Feb. 28, but he was a healthy scratch for the first two games of the playoffs in Nashville. He had no goals and three assists in 19 games with the Blackhawks during the regular season.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Cleveland right-handed pitcher Carlos Carrasco is having his next start pushed back to Tuesday.

Carrasco left his previous start April 14 after being hit in the jaw by a line drive off the bat of Melky Cabrera. He was set to rejoin the rotation Monday in Chicago.

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Usain Bolt won a 100-meter exhibition race Sunday in Rio de Janeiro, running a slow time of 10.12 seconds.

The six-time Olympic gold medalist said he'd hoped to run under 10 seconds.

The exhibition was staged on a track set up at a horse racing venue in central Rio.

Bolt holds the world record of 9.58 and hopes to add three more Olympic golds next year at the Rio Olympics.

OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) — Veteran goalie Craig Anderson will start over Andrew Hammond for the Ottawa Senators in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference playoff series against Montreal on Sunday.

KAZAN, Russia (AP) — Ilya Kovalchuk led SKA St. Petersburg to its first Kontinental Hockey League title on Sunday as the team clinched a 4-1 series victory over Ak Bars Kazan.

Kovalchuk scored two goals as SKA beat Ak Bars 6-1 on the road in Game 5 to secure the Gagarin Cup.
