SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The Washington Nationals have acquired All-Star closer Mark Melancon from the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Washington sent reliever Felipe Rivero and pitching prospect Taylor Hearn to the Pirates for Melancon, who supplants Jonathan Papelbon as Washington's closer.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Bears signed outside linebacker Willie Young to a two-year contract extension on Saturday.

Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

LONG POND, Pa. (AP) — William Bryon continued his dominance in the NASCAR Truck Series at Pocono Raceway on Saturday, winning for the fifth time this season.

Byron added the Pocono victory to wins at Kansas, Texas, Iowa and Kentucky.
