BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Freshman forward Max Hoetzel is planning to transfer from Indiana.

Friday's announcement marks the second time this week an Indiana player has decided to leave the program. Sophomore guard Stanford Robinson announced earlier this week that he, too, would transfer.

The 6-foot-8 Hoetzel says he is looking for more playing time that would preferably be closer to his California home.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Arizona guard Gabe York remembers having the ball in his hands, taking a couple of dribbles and failing to get a shot off before time expired.

Wisconsin 64, Arizona 63, in overtime.

The Badgers advanced to the Final Four for the first time under coach Bo Ryan a year ago, and the Wildcats went back to the desert, unable to deliver the same first appearance for coach Sean Miller.

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (AP) — St. Olaf College is canceling the rest of its baseball season because of hazing.

College President David Anderson made the announcement Friday.

The school says in a statement that an investigation found that serious violations of St. Olaf's hazing policy occurred on and off campus during the weekend of Feb. 28. The investigation was conducted by the school and its independent counsel.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Jimmy Walker shot a 5-under 67 on Friday in the Texas Open to take a one-stroke lead in his hometown event.

After a 35-minute drive from his suburban home, Walker enjoyed a neighborly stroll at TPC San Antonio to reach 6-under 138. He won the Sony Open in Hawaii in January after winning three times last season.

Walker overtook first-round leader Charley Hoffman with three straight birdies late in his round.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Tennessee is used to playing before large hostile crowds. In fact, some players seem to enjoy it.

Second-seeded Tennessee is really going to feel the love Saturday when the Lady Vols face 11th-seeded Gonzaga in its hometown. The Sweet 16 matchup in Spokane won't be on the Zags' home court but their campus is only about a mile away so a large rooting section is to be expected.

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (AP) — Joey Logano won the pole for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race Sunday at Martinsville Speedway, and Chase Elliott earned the right to make his debut in the series by qualifying 27th.

Logano turned a fast lap at 98.461 mph in the third round of qualifying, edging Ryan Newman (98.328), to win the 10th pole of his career and the second this season. It's his first at Martinsville. Martin Truex Jr. (98.018), Jeff Gordon (97.613) and Jimmie Johnson (97.583)...

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Cleveland ace Corey Kluber tuned up for the regular season, striking out nine over six effective innings Friday in the Indians' 3-2 loss to Josh Collmenter and the split-squad Arizona Diamondbacks.

In a matchup between pitchers set to start on opening day, Kluber gave up one run and six hits. The AL Cy Young Award winner walked two.

MESA, Ariz. (AP) — Anthony Ranaudo pitched six solid innings and Elvis Andrus, Jake Smolinski and Chris Gimenez each drove in runs for Texas before the Oakland Athletics rallied in the ninth for a 7-6 victory Friday over the Rangers.

Mark Canha hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth after the Rangers scored five times over the final three innings to take the lead.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona rookie Archie Bradley pitched five solid innings while C.J. Wilson struggled as the split-squad Diamondbacks beat the Los Angeles Angels 7-2 Friday.

Bradley, a candidate to make the rotation out of spring, lowered his spring ERA to 2.20 after allowing one run and six hits.

Bradley was the Diamondbacks' top pick in the 2011 draft. He made his third spring start and fifth appearance overall.

MESA, Ariz. (AP) — Jorge Soler and Chris Coghlan each hit two-run homers, Starlin Castro and Anthony Rizzo also connected and the Chicago Cubs beat the rival White Sox 6-3 Friday.

Entering the day, the Cubs had hit 32 homers, second-most in the majors this spring.

The home runs came off Jeff Samardzija, the White Sox's opening-day starter on April 6 at Kansas City.
