ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (AP) — A moment of silence has been observed in memory of Justin Wilson prior to the start of the NASCAR Xfinity race at Road America.

Wilson died Monday from a head injury sustained when he was struck by debris during an IndyCar Series race at Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania.

ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Braves have optioned right-hander Williams Perez to Triple-A Gwinnett and recalled right-hander Jake Brigham from Gwinnett.

Perez gave up eight runs in 1 2-3 innings in the Braves' 15-4 loss to the Yankees on Friday night. He had a 5.56 ERA in 17 games with Atlanta.

Brigham was 0-1 with a 4.80 ERA in 11 games, all in relief, in an earlier stint with the Braves. He is a combined 9-4 with a 3.50 ERA with Double-A Mississippi...

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Brazilian environmentalist and biologist Mario Moscatelli says sewage has killed at least a ton of fish in a lagoon next to the Olympic Park that will host many Rio 2016 events.

Moscatelli said Saturday that thousands of tilapia, sea bass and mullets started washing up Friday on the shore of Rio de Janeiro's Jacarepagua Lagoon. He said the die-off could be repeated during next year's games.

GOTEBORG, Sweden (AP) — Oracle Team USA held the lead after the first day of the America's Cup World Series regatta in Goteborg after winning Saturday's two opening races.
