ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Jack Disney, a longtime sports writer with the old Los Angeles Herald Examiner who later worked in publicity at two Southern California horse racing tracks, has died. He was 80.

Officials at Santa Anita Park said Wednesday that Disney died Monday at his home in Irvine after a long fight with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

ATLANTA (AP) — A person with knowledge of the deal says the Atlanta Hawks have reached an agreement to re-sign free agent power forward Paul Millsap.

NEW YORK (AP) — Mets outfielder Michael Cuddyer has been given two shots to relieve discomfort in his left knee but expects to avoid the disabled list.

DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Red Wings have signed defenseman Mike Green and forward Brad Richards to free-agent contracts.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Taijuan Walker pitched one-hit ball for six innings, Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz homered and the Seattle Mariners beat the punchless San Diego Padres 7-0 on Wednesday.
