Dorothy Marie Briggs (March 14, 1926 – December 16, 2014)

OBIT FOR: DOROTHY MARIE BRIGGS , 88 years
Dorothy Marie Briggs , 88 of Zanesville died at 6:45 PM Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Oaks at Northpointe underthe loving care of Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care.
She was born on March 14, 1926 in Zanesville the daughter of Amos and Anna Prosser Ross.
Dorothy was a Lifetime member of Brighton First Free Methodist, a homemaker, former volunteer at Bethesda Hospital, former employee of Ross IGA. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, gardening, collecting angels and was an avid Buckeye’s fan. Most importantly, Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family & friends and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons; John (Chris) Briggs of St. Charles, IL & Randy (Deanna) Briggs of Zanesville; a daughter, Pamela (Keith) Slotter of Williamsburg VA; grandchildren, Leslie (Trent) McKay, Sarah (James) Chyllo, Peter (Amanda) Briggs, Mark (Aubrey) Briggs, Skylar Slotter, Michael (Chelsie) Briggs, Shelby Slotter, Ashley Briggs, Jenna Briggs & Jacob Briggs; great grandchildren: Noah & Hannah McKay, Luke Briggs, Andrew & Allison Chyllo; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Briggs of Berea KY; and many nieces & nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband John Briggs on 9/11/1999, a son Timothy Briggs and three brothers, Lewis Ross, Harold Ross & Russell Ross.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8pm on Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home where Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 20, 2014 with Pastor Daniel Neville & Rev. Mark Douglas officiating. Burial will conclude at the Washington Baptist Cemetery, Church Hill Rd., Zanesville. .
