Donnarumma, 17-year-old goalkeeper, called up to Italy squad

ROME (AP) — AC Milan's 17-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has received his first call up to Italy's squad.

New Azzurri coach Gian Piero Ventura also gave Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli, Torino forward Andrea Belotti and Genoa striker Leonardo Pavoletti their first call ups.

Italy hosts France in a friendly in Bari on Thursday, then visits Israel four days later to open World Cup qualifying.

Ventura replaced Antonio Conte, who left for Chelsea after guiding Italy to the quarterfinals of the European Championship.

Raikkonen edges Ricciardo in 3rd Belgian GP practice

SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, Belgium (AP) — Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen left it late to post the fastest time in the third and final practice session of the Belgian Grand Prix on Saturday, beating Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo with a few minutes remaining.

Raikkonen was .215 of a second quicker than Ricciardo and .323 faster than Ferrari teammate Sebastian Vettel, was frustrated in the roasting hot temperatures.

Meanwhile, Ricciardo's teammate Max Verstappen was stuck in the garage while mechanics worked on a gearbox problem.

Hamilton penalty up to 55 places after more engine changes

SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, Belgium (AP) — Lewis Hamilton's grid penalty for the Belgian Grand Prix has increased to a whopping 55 places after Mercedes made further engine changes on Saturday.

The defending Formula One champion and current championship leader was already condemned to start from the back of the grid after picking up a 15-place grid penalty in Friday morning's first practice and a further 15 spots following another component change in the afternoon.

SYDNEY (AP) — Davis Webb threw four touchdown passes and ran for another score in a sensational debut for California, leading the Bears to a 51-31 win over Hawaii on Saturday in college football's season opener at Sydney's Olympic stadium.

Khalfani Muhammad had 94 yards rushing and one touchdown, and Chad Hansen had 14 receptions for 160 yards and two scores to help Cal win the game played Down Under as a tourism initiative and to increase awareness of "gridiron" in the country.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kris Bryant hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the 10th inning to go with an earlier solo shot, lifting the Chicago Cubs over the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-4 on Friday night in the series opener between NL division leaders.

Bryant's 35th homer capped a comeback from an earlier two-run deficit and extended the Cubs' winning streak to four games. Chicago fans chanted "MVP! MVP!" as Bryant scored behind Dexter Fowler, who singled leading off.

Chicago improved to 19-4 in August while earning its major league-leading 82nd victory.

Diamondbacks beat Reds on 2-out wild pitch in 11th inning

PHOENIX (AP) — Brandon Drury scored the winning run on a wild pitch with two outs in the 11th inning Friday night, giving the Arizona Diamondbacks a 4-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

After the Diamondbacks gave up a 2-1 lead in the ninth and then rallied to tie it in the 10th, a wild pitch by Blake Wood ended the game.

Drury doubled with one out off Wood (5-3) and took third on a groundout. A walk brought up Jean Segura, and Wood's first pitch bounced in front of home plate and went all the way to the backstop.

Prevot suspended indefinitely by No. 24 Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Defensive end Torrodney Prevot has been suspended indefinitely by No. 24 Oregon for violating the university's and athletic department's code of conduct.

Coach Mark Helfrich announced the suspension in a statement released on Friday night. It said his status as a student-athlete would be re-evaluated at the conclusion of the university's process.
