“Hoss” Lance A. Smith Sr., 54 of Zanesville had his “sunset” at 1:18pm, Wednesday, January 07, 2015 at the Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care and his sunrise was on September 29, 1960 in Zanesville, OH.
“Hoss” was employed at Ohio University / Zane State for over 22 years, has been a member for over 40 years & past president of the Only Ones Motorcycle Club and he enjoyed motorcycle riding & hunting.
He is survived by his mother, Marilyn (Norris) Smith of Zanesville, his wife of 33 years, Kimberly S. (Edwards) Smith, three children, Lance (Sarah) Smith II, Craig (Krishawna) Smith and Latawnya Brown; 13 grandchildren; Lance III, Brooklyn, Xavier, Tyren, Amari, Makiah, Craig II, Malakhi, Shyren, Dacian, Brian, Tiajah, Joshiah and two great grandchildren; Nine brothers & sisters, Jamie (Tim) Mathie, Perry (Jill) Smith, Teresa Allender, Greg (Sue) Johnson, Kelly (“Bill”) McCord, Robin (Patty) Smith, Lori Johnson, Deanna (Tim) McKenzie, and Wendy Johnson. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. “Hoss” was preceded in death by his Father & Step-Mother, Larry & Violet Johnson, a brother Larry Lee Johnson Jr., and an infant sister.
Friends may call 5 to 8pm Sunday, January 11th at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 12th at the Wings of Hope Tabernacle with one hour visitation prior to service. Burial will conclude at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
