John Edward Loomis (March 18, 1935 – September 17, 2014)

John Edward Loomis, 79 of Crooksville, passed away Wednesday September 17, 2014 at the Morrison House. He was born March 18, 1935 in Roseville a son of the late Victor and Bessie Wood Loomis.
He was a truck driver for Putnam Transfer, former owner of Loomis Union 76 and Loomis Cycle Shop in Crooksville. Was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Roseville, Peerless Lodge #591 F.&A.M., Teamsters Local 637 and former member of the Crooksville Civil Defense.
John is survived by his wife Marilou Ross Loomis; one son John (Tina) Loomis of Crooksville; one daughter Jackie Loomis of Grove City; one brother Harold Loomis of Zanesville; three sisters Carol Ervin of Zanesville, Betty Eastman of MI and Doris Metzger of Lancaster; four grandchildren David (Jessica Knight) Layman of Athens, Katie (Chris) Buchholz of Grove City, Kristi (Chad) Smith of Crooksville and Kellie (Stephen) Myers of Crooksville; eight great grandchildren Jason Davis-Layman, Ryan Buchholz, Kasey Buchholz, Sidney Smith, Larkin Smith, Kami Loomis-Myers, Kailen Myers and Silas Myers.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Donald Loomis and Dick Allberry and two sister’s Helen Taylor and Burnette Denny.

Calling hours will be held on Friday September 19, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 207 BURLEY STREET CROOKSVILLE and one hour prior to services at 11am on Saturday September 20, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in Duncan Falls Cemetery. Masonic services will be held Friday evening at 8pm.
