Marjorie “margie” Ann Agnes (tice) Thomas, “aunt Mickey” (september 27, 1921 May 7, 2014)

Marjorie “Margie” Ann Agnes (Tice) Thomas, “Aunt Mickey” went to heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on the morning of May 7th. She was born, September 27th, 1921 the fourth daughter of her parents, Thomas and Hazel (Curran) Tice.

She is survived by her son Marc Thomas and his wife, Kimberly of Zanesville, Grandchildren Derek Gorsuch and Abbey Gorsuch (Joe) Weaver, two Great grandchildren Kaleb and Kora Weaver. She is also survived by her nephew, Tom (Patty) Dusenbery, and three nieces, Jean Supplee, Diane Fletcher, and Judy (Bill) Adams plus many friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Charles William “Bill” Thomas as well as her son, Ronnie Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy (Tice) Engle, McCall, Betty (Tice), Dusenbery DeGarmo, Marilou and Gene (Tice) Ehleiter, and Pauline Tice.

Margie attended Lash High School and worked for the Hoover Plant during the war years. She met her husband at that time and worked as a homemaker until Bill’s retirement from Ohio Power. It was then she began working in the radiology department at Good Samaritan Hospital transporting patients and developing films. She loved working with people and went on to put in 6000 hours of volunteer service at the patient information desk at Bethesda Hospital after retiring from Good Sam. Margie never met a stranger and shared her love of life with everyone she met. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Zanesville. She will be missed.

Family will receive friends Tuesday May 13th from 10am to 11am with Memorial Service at 11am at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church on South Seventh St. with Pastor Mark Matzke officiating. A luncheon will be provided by the Ladies Auxiliary following the service. A private burial at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery will take place at a later time.
