Donald “Don” Joseph Dogwiler, 75 passed away July 4, 2017 with his family surrounding him. He was born February 26, 1942 in Berlin, WI to the late Benhart and Lorine (Gilbert) Dogwiler. Don retired from WHIZ Media Group in 2010 and considered his work family very dear to him. He was a member of Caloosa Gyro Club in Cape Coral, Florida, Canton Eagles and an avid sports card collector and did sports card shows for many years. He loved being surrounded by family and grandkids. Don enjoyed 50’s music and was involved in booking bands for many years. Don also played Santa Claus in the Zanesville area as well being the Santa on WHIZ-TV.
He is survived by his wife Sherry Jentes Dogwiler; a son Toby (Katie) Dogwiler of Springfield, Missouri; a daughter Laurel (Bill Statczar) Borrero of Johnstown, Ohio; three grandchildren: Nelson Borrero, Nyah Dogwiler and Elise Statczar; a sister in law Diane Schilling; brother in law’s: Ralph (Barbara) Jentes and Gary (Margie) Jentes; an aunt Dolores Loomis; his fur babies: Brutus and CeCe; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Richard Dogwiler; a sister and brother in law Darlene and William Cullen; and brother in law James C. Schilling.
Visitation will begin at 10am followed by a Memorial Service at 11am on Saturday , September 9, 2017 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE.
