Betty Rose Hayes

Betty Rose Hayes, 81 of New Concord, returned to her heavenly home on January 8, 2014. She went to sleep and entered into her eternal rest.
She was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Aunt. She was the sixth of eight children born to the former Michael and Anna Bozigar Selock. She was born on September 24, 1932. She and her twin brother Emil Selock were christened that same day as they didn’t believe that they would make it, but they both did. She grew up in Pleasant City and went to school there. She married Roger L. Hayes on February 24, 1951 in Richmond, IN and they made their home in New Concord, Ohio where they raised eight children. Her hobbies included puzzles, gardening, reading, baking and spending time with her family.
She worked for NCR from 1971 until she retired. She was an amazing and wonderful woman who was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her Parents and two brothers Myron (Jackie) and William (Widge) and two sisters Margaret Spires and Pat Howiler. She is also preceded in death by two children-in-law Mike Brown (Tancy) and Shirley Gant Hayes (Ron).
Betty is survived by her loving husband Roger L. Hayes, her eight children Ron (Lurenda) Hayes of Hebron, OH, Bill Hayes of Heath, OH, Rusty (Debbie) Hayes of Evansville, WY, Tancy (Dennis) Johnson of Syracuse, UT, Dennis (Theresa) of Cambridge, OH, Tim (Joyce) Hayes of Tampa, FL, Donald (Peggy) Hayes of Norwich, OH, Pam (Lonnie) Brown of Casper, WY; over 30 grandchildren and over 40 great-grandchildren, a sister Dorothy Burmich of Parma, OH, her two brothers Bob (Jeannie) Selock of Byesville, OH and Emil (Janet) Selock of Cambridge, OH and many nieces and nephews.
Visitations will be 4 pm to 8 pm Monday, January 13, 2014 and Tuesday 10 to 11 am at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord (Former Mock- Miller Funeral Home) 63 W. Main St., New Concord. Funeral services will be 11 am on Tuesday Jan. 14, 2014. She will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in New Concord.
