Charles Hepler, 80, of Zanesville, died at at 6:47 A.M. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at his home. He was born on October 7, 1932, in Zanesville, a son of the late George Edward and Ruth Norman Hepler. He was a retired pipefitter, and had worked for Pipefitters Local 495 in Cambridge. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of American Legion #29, the Moose Lodge, and Eagles Lodge #302.
Surviving to treasure his memory are his wife, Gail A. Abele Hepler, whom he married April 6, 1975; three daughters, Debra (Francis) Miller of Zanesville, Tammy (Steve Orewiler) Anders of Bucyrus, and Lynda (Tim) Dixon of Oceanside, CA; four sons, Richard (Melinda) Hepler of Pearland, TX, Thomas Hepler of Austin, TX, Scott Pedicord of Sacramento, CA, and Eric (Mindy) Pedicord of Mt. Perry; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and many close friends, Mark Fell, Ken Snyder, Dave and Linda Oâ€™Brian, Russ and Connie Stallings, Bill and Marlene Wagner, and Wendell and Sally Smitely.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Hepler; and a sister, Betty Dixon.
A dignified cremation will take place. A private family Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville was entrusted with arrangements.
