Clarence Gaylord Tyson, 73, of Norwich, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at his residence after a long illness. He was born on November 30, 1939, in Zanesville, a son of the late George and Roberta Luburgh Tyson. He was a retired truck driver for Bulk Transit in Plain City and could turn a “big rig on a dime.” He enjoyed farming, construction and all types of sports. He was a member of Eagles Lodge #302, and Moose Lodge #867. He was a lifetime member of Norwich Presbyterian Church where he served on the cemetery committee. He was also a member of the Old Steam and Gas Club and an avid Blood Donor.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Marlene (Vore) Tyson of the home; two daughters, Darlene (Gary) Ballantine of Norwich and Diana (Colt) Jackson of Zanesville; 10 grandchildren, Veronica Kelly, Cory, Jeff, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Carrie, Tyler, Samuel, Andrew and Katherine Ballantine; a great grandson, Ashton Wells; a sister-in-law, Sandy Vore of Zanesville; two nieces and a nephew of Michigan; and a special thanks to his nurse Shelly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a twin brother, Clata.
Friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at noon on Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Norwich Presbyterian Church, 10245 Norwich Drive, Norwich with Rev. Chip Steele officiating. Clarence will be laid to rest in Norwich United Presbyterian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Norwich Presbyterian Church, 10245 Norwich Drive, Norwich, Ohio 43767 in his name.
