Daniel Ross “Danny” Luman 78 of Zanesville passed away on Saturday February 26, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Daniel was born in Crooksville on July 25, 1932 to the late Elmer Leroy and Rilla H. Hoops Luman. He was a graduate of Crooksville High School and Meredith Business College. He was a meat cutter, Local 1059 Union Steward and contract negotiator at Kroger for over 42 years. He also was meat cutter at Sunrise IGA, and delivered for Shrivers Pharmacy, Outdoor Enterprises, and flowers for Kroger’s. Daniel was a member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church in Zanesville and First Hope United Methodist Church in Crooksville. He was a member of Philo-Duncan Falls Lions Club, NRA, was an avid hunter, and was Philo’s # 1 fan as he never missed a sporting event in which his grandchildren were playing. He golfed in the Monday morning league at Green Valley and the Wednesday evening League at Genesis and served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by three daughters Jean Ann (Jerry) Roberts of Zanesville, Jayne E. (Dennis) Dunlap of Zanesville, and Jill L. (George) Phillips of Vacaville, CA. Seven grandchildren Sara Schiele, Levi (Jessy) Roberts, Abby Roberts, Hope Roberts, Samatha Roush, Jeremy Roush, and Rebecca (Ben Pack)Joe. Four great grandchildren Mikenna Schiele, Kody Schiele, Graisyn Roberts and Parker Roberts.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty R. Tatman Luman who passed away on November 9, 2008.

Calling hours will be 2-4 & 6-8 on Tuesday March 1 and 2-4 & 6-8 on Wednesday March 2 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday March 3 in The Snouffer Chapel with Dr. Steven Fewell and Rev. Gay Blau officiating.
