Donald Alexander Eversberg Sr., 83, died at 5:00 P.M. on Monday, November 18, 2013, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born January 10, 1930, in Syracuse, New York, a son of the late Alfred Alexander and Dorthea Marie Stengel Eversberg. He graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1956. He worked for Boeing, NASA and General Dynamics. His years at NASA encompassed the Gemini, Apollo, and Shuttle Manned Space Program. He was a proud Korean Conflict Veteran of the United States Air Force. His interests included Civil Aviation; he was a private pilot and he restored Vintage Ercoupe and Cessna 175. For many years he was a volunteer at Airventure at Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
He is survived by his loving wife Helen Murphy Bruns Eversberg; his step-children Ernie (Denise) Bruns of Zanesville and Amy (Richard) Girardot of Westchester, Cincinnati; his first wife Pauline Stringer Eversberg and their five children, Donald Jr., Ronald, Luanne, Felicia, and Stephanie; his twelve grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Suzanne.
In keeping with his wishes, Donaldâ€™s body will be cremated and his cremains will be interred at Garden of Faith, Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, and his family will hold a private service at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home & Crematory, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville.
