Donna Jean Tysinger
07/27/1931 – 03/13/2014

Donna Jean Tysinger, 82 of Philo passed away peacefully at her home at 2:37 am, Thursday, March 13, 2014.

Donna was born July 27, 1931 at the family farm in Gaysport, Ohio the daughter of the late Paul Hutson and Katheryn (Boetcher) Hutson Wilson. She worked for several years as a secretary for several law offices in Zanesville, the Social Security Administration, Ohio Ferro Alloy in Philo and Shelly and Sands in Duncan Falls.

She was a member of the Emmanuelle United Church of Christ in Zanesville and a member and officer of the Duncan Falls American Legion Auxiliary.

She was the matriarch of the family and the glue that held them together. Her family and grandchildren were her life. She and her sister Pat helped “pay it forward” before it was the popular thing to do; taking food or providing Christmas gifts for someone less fortunate. She never met a stranger and was well known for her animated stories and songs.

Donna is survived by her husband John “Bill” W. Tysinger whom she married April 5, 1953; her children Cheryl (Jerry) Jenkins of Philo, Paul (Sue) Tysinger of Zanesville, Carla (Dan) Ewing of McConnelsville and Gina (Jeff) LeCocq of Duncan Falls; her sister Patricia Little of Zanesville; her four grandchildren Joseph (Heidi) Jenkins, Brian Ewing, Tia (Chase) Delong and Tony Tysinger; her great grandchildren Drew and Libby Jenkins; several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She shared a special bond with nephews Nick and Mark Little, Nephew Tim Tysinger (who teased her unmercifully) and Niece Debbie Krugh (who called her faithfully and made her laugh when she said when it came to her temper she may have been born a “Little” but raised a “Tysinger”.)

In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by two grandsons John Jenkins and Joshua LeCocq and her step-father Herbert Wilson.

A special thanks to Hospice of Central Ohio for stepping in and making her last days comfortable and meaningful; especially her nursing team Donna, Cindy, Ruth, Sherry and Sandy for their excellent care.

The family is sure she will continue to watch over and guide them from Heaven where she now resides with her loved ones.

Visitations will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be Saturday, March 15 at 1 pm with Pastor Mitch Reed officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
