Erminnie June Marlowe, 83, of Zanesville, died at 1:45 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2010 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born May 23, 1927, in Muskingum County, a daughter of the late Elmer James â€œJimâ€ and Marguerite â€œPegâ€ Barnes Caton. She was a volunteer at the Adams Lane Care Center and was an avid golfer, having played up to the age of 79 and played in several leagues. She was a member of the Bethesda Jr. Womenâ€™s League and Eastside Community Ministries. She was Presbyterian by faith.
Surviving are three daughters, Amy (Jeffrey) Ater of Lilburn, GA., Peggy (Harry â€œScoopâ€) McKirahan of New Concord and Patty (David) Mayhew of Jackson, TN; two grandchildren, Kelly Ater of Lilburn, GA. and Matthew Ater of Atlanta, GA.; three step grandchildren, Staci Heller, Gwyn Griffiths and Jeff McKirahan; eight step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William O. Marlowe, who died February 23, 2000; and three sisters, Shirley Sharp, Margaret Hayes and Carole Allton.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at noon Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Pastor Dean Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
