Glenna Mae Prouty Bash

Glenna Mae Prouty Bash went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday May 25, 2013 at The Pickering House in Lancaster. Glenna was born on May 18, 1929 near Chandlersville, Ohio to the late Merl and Josephine Pyle Prouty. She was a 1947 graduate of Adamsville High School. After graduating from High School she worked for the Ohio Bell Telephone Company in Zanesville and Columbus. She married Robert Bash on April 23, 1950. She was a loving wife to her husband and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was faithful in her service to God as she served many ways in a number of Churches as she moved to various parts of Ohio. She became a member of Gideons International in 1961 and served in local offices of the organization the remainder of her life. She is currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lancaster. Glenna felt felt her calling from the Lord was to show love and be an encourager to all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband , Robert to whom she had been married for 63 years. Also surviving are two sons, David (Terry) of Carroll and Eric of Newark, a son in law Tom Bowman of Findlay, Two grandchildren Ryan (Crissy) of Milford Center and Traci (Wade) Amelung of Powell, four great grandchildren, Cameron and Cailynn Bash and Brock and Allison Amelung. Brothers, Gail (Gusta) Prouty of Norwich, Gerald (Carolyn) Prouty of Norwich, and Lester (Trudy) Prouty of Adamsville, a sister Naomi Worthington of Jackson, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a Daughter Beth Ann Bowman, two brothers Dennis Harold and Eugene Prouty, and a sister Geneva Vernon McCarty.

Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Tuesday May 28 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1910 Marietta Road Lancaster. From 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Wednesday May 29 at The Snouffer Funeral Home 1150 West Military Road Zanesville. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 at The Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Nihiser officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
