Harry Joseph Etter, 85, of Zanesville, passed away at 10:25 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care. He was born on February 8, 1928, in Indiana, a son of the late Harry and Mabel Waltz Etter. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for Luburgh Construction. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Lexington, Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Scottish Rite and was a 32nd Degree Mason.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Shepperd Etter of the home; two step sons, Stephen (Patricia) Johnson of Newark, OH and Douglas (Susan) Johnson of Lake Mary, FL; 5 grandchildren; and several other family members.
No calling hours or services will be held. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date with burial to follow in Maplewood Cemetery in New Lexington.
