ZANESVILLE: Henry Ray Huhn, 72, of Zanesville, passed away after battling a lengthy illness on Saturday, March 6, 2010 and was surrounded by his family.
Ray was born on July 24, 1937 in Cumberland to the late William Henry and Alta Huhn. He was one of eleven children.
Ray worked at the former Gould National Battery for 22 years where he was a union representative and pitched for their softball team in the early 1970’s. He retired from United Technologies after 11 years of service. After retirement Ray decided to go back to work and became a Maintenance Man at Burger King until he became ill.
He enjoyed bowling and had a great passion for hunting and fishing. Ray loved the outdoors and was a kind man, he would do anything for anyone at anytime. He never met a stranger and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Delores “Dee” Grandstaff Huhn of the home, whom he married June 18, 1958; two sons, Rodney Ray (Kelly Caynor) Huhn and Randy Keith (Teddy Rudder) Huhn; a daughter, Donna Darlene Huhn Winsor; grandchildren, Christopher Ray Huhn, Jonie Collopy Huhn, Dustin Jee Winsor, Joshua Ryan (Samantha Marcum) Huhn, Melissa Winsor, Shane Michael Huhn, Tim (Kerry) Riggle, and Mark Caynor; great grandchildren, Koby Alan, Gage Christopher, Hunter Ryan, Loralie Ann, Raylee Star, Breaunna Devyne, and Braylei Rayne; six brothers, Bill, Richard, Jim, Wendall, George, and Joe; two sisters, Mary Lou and Carole; brother, and sister in laws, Robert (Donna) McFee, Robert (Sarah) Grandstaff, and Butch (Margie) Grandstaff.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Calling hours will be Monday, March 8, 2009 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. A comforting funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in The Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Mark Beros officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
