Jean F. Straker, 88, of Zanesville, passed away at 7:00 AM Saturday November 17, 2012 at Adams Lane Care Center.
She was born November 29, 1923 in Schenectady, NY the daughter of the late Harley and Gwendoline Boggs Schulze. She was a graduate of Meredith Business College, member of First United Methodist Church, former chairman of Muskingum County Heart Association and an excellent homemaker who enjoyed knitting, camping and traveling. Jean was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend.
Jean is survived by her grandchildren; Gwendolyn (Foster) Stangel of Minneapolis, MN and Dana Kane of Gurnee, IL, great grandchildren; Taylor Kane and Trevor Kane and Ivan Stangel and Gemma Stangel, sister; Carol (David) Hallet of Weems, VA, special daughters and family; Charlotte (Dan) Snider of Zanesville and sons; Devin (Kate) of Zanesville, Adam (Emily) of Huntingdon, PA and Kyle (Courtney Cox) of Cincinnati and Connie (Bruce) Vansickle of Adamsville and daughter; Valerie Watson of Nashport and children: Payton Watson and Piper Watson, brothers and sisters-in-law: JW (Mary Helen) Straker, Charles (Sue) Straker and June Straker all of Zanesville and special friends John and Leona Fornataro of Zanesville and Jeanâ€™s shadow â€œCCâ€.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband: Robert A. â€œBobâ€ Straker who died October 2, 2006 and daughter; Rebecca Ann â€œBeckyâ€ Kane who died December 31, 1994, brother-in-law: Richard Straker and sister-in-law: Mary Lou Taylor.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM till time of service at 12:00 Noon Monday, November 19, 2012 at Bryan & Snider Funeral Home 2318 Maple Ave. Pastor Joy French will officiate followed with committal service at Memorial Park Cemetery.
