Julie Esther Aikens passed away in her home on Friday, August 22nd in the early morning hours; she was 59 years old. She was born in Cambridge, Ohio to Louis and Grace Vickers on March 11th, 1955. Julie was a loving and caring mother, and loved being a grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, and the presence of her grandchildren always brought a smile to her face. She also loved to read crime and mystery stories, and could often be found watching T.V. shows like Law & Order.
She is predeceased by her mother, Grace Vickers, her son, Danny George, her brother, Louis Vickers, and her grandson, Justin Hutchins. She is survived by her son, Jon Phipps of Cambridge, and her daughter, Jaimie Phipps Moody, and her husband Brian, of Byesville. Julie will also be deeply missed by her beloved grandchildren, Matthew Hutchins, and Caleb Moody. She also leaves to mourn her brother, Jody Vickers, and her sister, Mary Ruffel; as well as a multitude of friends, neighbors and former co-workers.
A graveside service for Julie will be held at the New Concord Cemetery on Tuesday, August 26th at 2PM with Pastor Tim Pollock officiating. Arrangements are being cared for by the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord, formerly the Mock-Miller Funeral Home.
