Lee J. Johnson, 86, of Chandlersville, passed away at 1:32 pm, March 16, 2010 at Genesis Hospital, Good Samaritan Campus.
Lee was born in Zanesville, August 2, 1923 the son of the late Harlan and Florence (Dutro) Johnson. He worked for Ohio Power where he was a Class A Machinist until it’s closing, he then worked for Harrison Township; He was a member of the Zanesville Bible Methodist Church where he was a past board member and trustee. He served his country in the US Army during WWII having served as General Douglas MacArthur’s personal guard in the Pacific Theater.
Lee is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gladys I. (Coyle) Johnson, whom he married February 6, 1948; his three sons Brent (Rose) Johnson of Mount Perry, David (Ann) Johnson of Zanesville and Dana (Beverly) Johnson of Blue Rock; three daughters Melanie Southall of Blue Rock, Leah (Jeffery) Harper of Chandlersville and Karen (Phil) Hinkle of Carlwick; 19 grandchildren and 13 Great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers Bruce Lyons, Owen Johnson and John Johnson.
Visitations will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Thursday, March 18th at the Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls, where the funeral service will be 11 am Friday with Pastor William Blair officiating. Burial will follow in Duncan Falls Cemetery with full military honors provided by George Selsam Post #1058.
