Thomas Anthony "Ernie" Erwine

Thomas (Ernie) Anthony Erwine, 64 went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2014 at his home. He was born December 30, 1949 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of the late Garold and Elinor Osborne Erwine.
He loved watching the Cleveland Browns and anything Ohio State.
Surviving are his daughter, Misty & George Robert “Bobby” White of the home, grandson Thomas Rehart, three step grandsons, Brandon White of Columbus, Morgan White and Brady White of the home, two step great grandsons Christopher Border Jr. & Damian Miles, three brothers, Denny Erwine, Mike Erwine and twin brother Tim Erwine, and one sister Juliana Clark.
He attended Morgan High School class of 1968. He played baseball for the Morgan Raiders and then became the Team Manager. He attended Tri-County Technical Institute and graduated in 1970 with an Associate’s Degree in Data Processing and Computer Technology. He was a member of the M&M Jaycee’s in the 1970’s. He worked at the State Liquor Store in Marietta and also the Malta National Bank. He then joined the Ohio Army National Guard’s where he served his country for 34 years. He served in the National Guard at the OMS 18 Shop in McConnelsville and the 2-174 ADA Duster Unit and then named 2-174 ADA Hawk Missile Unit; he then transferred to the Joint Force Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. While in the military he became a Master Sergeant. He was the food service inspector for the State of Ohio and retired from the military in December 2009. He received several awards in the military but the most honorable award received was The Meritorious Service Medal Award.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a half brother Ron Kyle and step grandson Christopher Border.
Visitation will be held from 11-1 on Thursday March 27, 2014 at The Malta Bible Church 411 S Main Street, Malta, Ohio with funeral services following at 1 pm. Pastor Mike Wells will be officiating. A military ceremony will take place after the service and a caring cremation will take place at a later date.
The Snouffer Funeral Home 1150 West Military Road, Zanesville is in charge of the arrangements.
