Rita Jane Johnson (June 18, 1964 – January 2, 2015)

Rita Jane Johnson, 50, of Zanesville, passed away at 11:58 AM Friday January 2, 2015 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital following a long illness.
She was born June 18, 1964 in Zanesville the daughter of Clyde Johnson of Zanesville and the late Elizabeth “Sally” L. Nelson Johnson. Rita lived with her father and did attend Starlight Workshop, played basketball for the Tigers and Special Olympics. She enjoyed sitting near the window in the sunlight and watch television. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, Lottery Tickets and bowling.
Rita is survived by her father Clyde Johnson of the home, five brothers and sister: Gerald “Mike” (Amy) Johnson of Dresden, Danny (Michelle) Johnson of Mc Connelsville, Vickie (James) Wiggins, of Zanesville, her favorite brother Terry (Krista) Johnson of Zanesville and David Johnson of New Mexico, many nieces and nephews and her favorite friend “Barney”.
Preceding her in death was her mother, grandparents: Gerald and Jennie Nelson and Lewis and Myrtle Johnson, great nephew: Baby Jakob.
Visitation for Rita will be 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Monday January 5, 2015 at Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home 2318 Maple Ave. Zanesville, where funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday January 6, 2015 with Rev. James Peters will officiate. Committal service will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
