Many came out to walk in hopes to better the conditions of the Veterans building at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds.

The Fairgrounds hosted their very first 5K Walk. Adults were $15 children walkers between ages 13-17 were $5 and kids 12 years old and younger were free. We spoke to Muskingum County Fair board member Dan Thornton and he tells us why they decided to have a 5K Walk.

Runners lit up the night at the annual SHIFT5K Glow Run Saturday.

It's the events fifth year and the second for the Glow Run. It took place at The Barracks in Duncan Falls behind Cornerstone Full Gospel Church. The cost to run in the race was $20 which included a shirt. Event Director, Troy Hunter said all the money went to support the Shift Youth Ministry.

Over 500 walkers and runners made their way to Zanesville High School Saturday morning to honor the life of Grant Hickman.

Although the Zanesville student lost his life nearly three years ago, he lives on through a foundation created by his parents. With today's third annual Run 4 Grant 5K, they were able to raise around $20,000.

The 3rd annual Run 4 Grant 5K is set for this weekend. Organizers are inviting you to come out to remember and celebrate the life of former Zanesville High School student, Grant Hickman.

One local school district held their first ever Wellness 5K Run and One Mile Walk on Saturday.

After receiving a grant from "Action For Healthy Kids" program to increase activity within their middle school, organizers had to think of an April event to get the community up and moving.

After a three year fight with cancer,a Maysville Middle School student is no longer here but his memory will live on forever.

On Saturday more than 70 community members met at Southtown Gym for a 5K run and 1 mile walk to benefit 13- year-old, Jared Hesel who recently lost his battle with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer. His mom says that he was a fighter and that is how people will remember her son.

On Sunday, 13-year-old Maysville Middle School student Jared Helsel, lost his battle with Ewings Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer. Southtown Gym Manager Abbie Williams, who also went to Maysville Schools, heard of Jared's story on Facebook and decided to put together a 5K and 1 mile walk to honor Jared.

Over 150 people ran and walked in the Red, White and Run 5K at the campus trail at Ohio University Zanesville. The event, which is the first of it's kind in our area, was started as a special way to celebrate Independence Day.

Before eating that huge Thanksgiving meal, runners hit the pavement for the 4th annual Race for Grace 5K.

Grace United Methodist Church held the race as a fundraiser for the food pantry at Eastside Community Ministry. Event Planner, Becky Woods, says each year has been a success with an additional 30-40 runners this year.
