The Zanesville Police Department says business and 911 lines are back up and running.

The department lost all phone service after an accident that occurred around 11:00 a.m. Thursday. EMA Director Bo Keck said a Columbia Gas Company crew was doing some work and accidentally severed all phone lines to the Zanesville Police Department, including 911.

The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office reports that due to a power outage 911 service was disrupted in the Norwich area early Sunday afternoon. 

This includes any number beginning with (740) 872-XXXX. If you live in this area and have an emergency the Sheriff's Office asks you call their 7 digit County Fire line at (740) 452-4583. Service was restored by late afternoon.

A new dispatch center is currently under renovation at the Zanesville Police Department, and before it's completed, they want to make sure they have everything they need for the community to successfully contact dispatchers.

"What the city's concern is, the police department's concern is, how do we reach everybody in our community and we want to make sure that when we upgrade our dispatch center, that our hearing impaired community is also taken care of,"...

Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency director Bo Keck says the 9-1-1 emergency phone service is not operating in Frazeysburg. Keck says if you have any emergency and you live in the 828 exchange you should call 828-2300. That is a direct line to the Frazeysburg Fire Station and they will answer all calls until repairs can be made.  Keck says the problem involved a fiber line between Dresden and Frazeysburg.  All repairs should be finished by 9 p.m. Monday.

Emergency responders have a message for those suffering the affects of storm damage that are moving through our area. 

Authorities are asking residents to not call 911 for non-emergency storm problems. They are asking that they call their electric provider to report any outages. 

Currently American Electric Power reports that 1,184 customers in Muskingum County are without power, 6,603 are without service in Licking County and 4824 in Fairfield County.

A problem with Perry County's 911 phone system is fixed.

Sheriff William Barker said Sunday night calls being made from the Junction City area and all phone numbers beginning with 987 were not working properly.  Callers were having trouble hearing dispatchers.  The Sheriff says the phone company has now made repairs and the issue has been corrected.
