Anitera Sharrer, 5, of Zanesville was struck by an oncoming Ford 150 shortly after 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
Her father, Aaron Sharrer said Anitera was crossing Luck Avenue just south of Dryden Road. Sharrer also said, it appeared that the driver of the truck strongly applied the brakes. Zanesville Patrol Officer, Vickers said there was no indication the truck was traveling at a high rate of speed.

The Zanesville Highway Patrol says the westbound lanes of U.S 40 are closed Tuesday morning after a two-vehicle accident. It happened just before 8:00 a.m. at Kimes Road. Initial reports say that the vehicles suffered heavy damage. The accident remains under investigation.

One woman is dead, and a man is critically injured after being hit while riding their bicycles Thursday evening.
It happened around 5:10 p.m. on State Route 60 South near Shelly and Sands. According to Sgt. Kevin Kelley of the State Highway Patrol, a van being driven by 66-year-old Marjeane B. An accident at U.S. 40 and Timber Run Road resulted in one woman with head lacerations being cut free from her car by first responders Tuesday night.
