The State Highway Patrol is asking motorists to use an alternate route if planning to travel on U.S. 40 near the McDonalds located at 2605 West Pike.

Lanes are shut down in both directions due to a serious injury crash involving two vehicles.

A man is injured after his vehicle slams into a building.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, the Zanesville Police Department received a 911 call that a vehicle had struck a home in the area of Harvey Street.

"When we showed up here on Harvey Street it appeared that a car southbound on 9th had come off of the road for several hundred feet and crashed into a garage that is used for storage behind 915 Marietta," said Sgt. Chris Phipps.

Freezing rain and ice are to blame for several area accidents Sunday afternoon.

Police say a 6-year-old and his 4-year-old brother were hospitalized after their uncle, 26-year-old Joseph Sims of Chandlersville hit a patch of ice on Millers Lane in Zanesville and flipped his Oldsmobile Bravada SUV.

The young boys are said to be okay. They were taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital as a pre-caution.

Both eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Cambridge have re-opened after an early monring accident.  It happened around 2:00 am. just east of State Route 209.  The Highway Patrol says the accident involved a car and a semi-tractor trailer.  The accident remains under investigation.

The Cambridge Post of the State Highway Patrol says one lane is now open on I-70 near Cambridge. Troopers say I-70 eastbound just east of State Route 209 was closed just before 2:00 am Thursday after a semi tractor trailer and a car were involved in an accident. A dispatcher says the right lane of the interstate eastbound is now open to traffic. The accident remains under investigation.

The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a one car rollover accident. It happened on the I-70 westbound on-ramp near Norwich. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Two people are transported to the hospital following a serious injury crash on State Route 60 in Dresden.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday near State Route 208.

According to the Zanesvile Post of the State Highway Patrol, 23-year-old Noah Everly driving a Nissan Maxima was traveling southbound and went left of center striking 34-year-old Goran Zarov head on. He was driving a white BMW.

A woman and child are dead after a fatal accident in Licking County.

According to the Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 3 p.m. Friday on State Route 37 in Monroe Township.

Authorities say 61-year-old Margaret Pertee of Johnstown driving a Kia Rondo was traveling southeast on State Route 37 and went left of center striking 62-year-old James Doran Jr. of New Albany, who was driving a fuel tanker. Pertee went off the right side of the roadway...

A one vehicle accident on State Route 93 in Perry County sends a sister and her two brothers to the hospital.

The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that around 8:40 a.m. Thursday 17-year-old Olivia Watts of Crooksville was driving east on 93 near State Route 669 when she drove off the right side of the roadway, over-corrected and hit a guardrail.

Authorities say the car then rolled over and landed on its side.

A Newark man is injured after a Tuesday morning accident in Heath.

Police report that just before 8:30 a.m. 22-year-old Kevin Baker was driving his Jeep on Keller Drive in Heath when he went off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Authorities say Baker had to be extricated from the vehicle.

He was taken to Licking Memorial Hospital and then taken by Medflight to Grant Medical Center in Columbus with chest injuries.
