A 9-year-old boy was taken by Med-Flight to Children's Hospital in Columbus after being struck by a car Tuesday afternoon in Licking County.

The Heath Police Department says 26-year-old Christopher Fauris went off the right side of the road, came back onto the roadway, went off the left side of the road, and struck a utility pole. Crews extracted Fauris from the vehicle and he was taken to the hospital. His condition is not known at this time.

It happened around 4:45 p.m. near the intersection of Dresden and Richvale Roads.
State Highway Patrol Sergeant Jeremy Mendenhall of the Zanesville Post says Mary Bell was traveling south when she went off the left side of the road, struck an embankment, and overturned. She was not injured in the incident.
