The Marietta Post of the State Highway Patrol says it’s investigating a serious two vehicle accident on State Route 60 South at McConnelsville. A Dispatcher says four people were hurt and two of the victims were flown by medical helicopter to the hospital. The accident happened just before 9:00 this morning. No other details have been released.

A two car accident shut down an intersection in downtown Zanesville Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 2 p.m.at the intersection of 5th and Market Street. Zanesville Police say the blue Olsmobile was making a right hand turn when it struck the passenger side of the purple Pontiac, which spun the Pontiac. It was slow going on Maple Avenue this evening after a two-vechicle accident.

It happened at about 5:40 p.m. on Maple Avenue near Tansky Honda.

According to the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol, Stacey Ryan of New Concord failed to yield as she was turning left on to Maple Avenue, when Michael Patterson struck her vehicle.

No one was injured in the crash, but Ryan was cited for failure to yield.

A Zanesville woman is sent to Good Samaritan Hospital after a two car accident.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Pine and Chester Streets.

Zanesville Police Department's Lieutenant Tony Coury says 26-year-old Shana Wade was traveling southeast on Pine Street when she went left of center and struck 23-year-old Shawnda Rine. He says Wade was on her cell phone at the time of the crash.

The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol says snow-covered roads and traveling at an unsafe speed led to the closing of one lane on Interstate 70 westbound last night.

A semi truck lost control around 10 p.m. Trooper Trenas Weaver says the driver went off the left side of the road into the median.

ODOT did close the passing lane until about 1:30 a.m. to allow crews to clear the scene.

One lane of Interstate 70 westbound is closed after an accident.

It happened around 10 p.m. near mile marker 145.

ODOT spokeswoman Kate Stickle says a semi crashed, which has caused crews to close the passing lane.

Stickle says she expects that lane to re-open around 1 a.m.

A two-car accident around 6 o'clock Friday sent one person to the hospital.

A Ford Taurus and Dodge Neon collided at the intersection of Indiana Street and Pershing Road.

One person was experiencing chest pains and transported to the hospital. The accident remains under investigation.

The State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle accident that involved a West Muskingum School bus.
 

It happened just after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Pert Hill Road and Hidden Springs Road.
 

The school bus was carrying students at the time of the accident but initial reports indicate none of them were injured.
 

It's not known if the driver of the other vehicle was hurt in the crash.

Ohio traffic deaths fell last year, but rose in our area.

The Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol had 15 fatalities in 2008 and 22 fatalities in 2009. Despite the heavy snow storms of 2010, the Zanesville Post has had minimal fatalities.

"The Zanesville Post covers a two county area, Coshocton and Muskingum County. We have had one traffic fatality in Coshocton county and none in Muskingum county," tells Trooper Mark Masters.

Two teenagers are sent to the hospital after a one car accident last night in Licking County.

It happened just before midnight on Custer Road, near Best Buy.

The Heath Police Department says a car, carrying 18-year-old Nathaniel Kirk-Bentley and a 16-year-old, went into a utility pole.

Both were taken to Licking Memorial Hospital and later transported to OSU Medical Center in Columbus. Kirk-Bentley is listed in fair condition. The condition of the 16-year-old is not known...
